Mediation is
a process which facilitates conflicted parties into reaching a resolution
in a safe and trusting environment. The mediator spends as much time as
possible building a neutral, non-judgemental relationship with the individuals
before bringing them together. Our goal is to get to a deeper understanding
of the needs and interests of the parties so that a workable solution
can be found. After the mediation, follow up is important to check on
progress and offer any additional support. Mediations may be necessary
when:
- two employees need a deeper understanding of each other's
perspective and a solution to their historically conflicted communications
- employees involved in a harassment complaint need an
alternative mechanism to resolve their issues
